Day 5 post removal and it’s HELL. Also I am anxious.
Hi all, I’m one of those annoying people whose nervous system cant differentiate between dangling off the edge of a cliff and recovering from wisdom tooth surgery. I’ve been terrified for as long as I can remember and now I’m 5 day post op (Wednesday was my surgery) and I’ve lived every day in insane anxiety.
About my surgery: all four taken out, all four apparently massive (larger than most of my other molars), one of them had 5 roots, 3 of them impacted. Also important to note: my right cheek is stitched, impacting my ability to open my mouth and beyond that, I have never been able to see my wisdom teeth, so I also can’t take a look at them now unfortunately to see how theyre doing. Not an easy case at all, which I assume is why I’m feeling the way I am. However, I am nervous.
My symptoms today: About as swollen as on day 3 & 4, maybe a slight reduction in pain but jaw and one of my wounds still kill. I still taste blood regularly while eating/drinking and I’m terrified I’m sucking too hard to swallow or something and I’ll suck my blood clot out. I’m due to get my threads out on Wednesday and I’m hoping I’ll be less nervous then. I’m still essentially on a liquids diet because I’m just so nervous, I only rinse by tilting my head, etc. Based on what my symptoms are today, could anyone per chance give me some peace of mind by being able to relate and tell me what I can and shouldn’t try by now? It’s miserable out here.
