Questions before career change
Hi all. I'm currently in behavioral health and looking for a career change. I found a phlebotomy program that will do night class program to certify me in Florida, but it's only 18 hours. A few of the programs in the area are that length but I've also seen plenty that are longer. Does 18 hours seem like a realistic completion time for a program?
Also, is only completing a Florida program okay for employment? I noticed you can take the national exam if you complete the Florida course, but they don't offer the national exam at the learning place so I would need to sign up myself.
Finally, is phlebotomy a good place to start if you're wanting predictable hours in a healthcare setting? By predictable, I mean I'm looking to get a hospital job with set hours.
Thanks in advance for the advice.
