Matrix and IC Firewall Question

In the example in the rule book page 227 when Ghost is fighting IC, it has this line:

"Ghost inflicts a DV of 8 (Attack 4 + 4 net hits), which is greater than 7 (IC’s Firewall + 6), meaning it is destroyed."

Also this here for bricking a Comm-Link:

"The commlink suffers a DV of 10 (Attack 4 + 6 hits), which is more its Firewall (3) + 6, resulting in incapacitating damage."

My question here, is where does the +6 that is added to the IC and Comm-link Firewalls come from?

Is this meant to be the Host rating, because this is stated as only being 4 earlier on? I cant seem to see anything that tells you where this comes from.

Thanks.

SRA2 Armour & Armor Stacking

Hi Folks,

I have question on exactly how much you can stack physical armour.

As the main book states, you can have Max worn armour value of 5 (Military Armour)

You can then have an Amp (quality, cyber, bio, etc) of 1

Lastly you can stack the armour spell results on these, but that is not important for this question.

This is so far all good, but my question really comes to the +1 stacks. Can you only have +1 from one source total, or can you get more than one?

My understanding is you can only have Dermal Armour OR Adept Armour rating 1, but not both.

What about the Adept Armour Power and Adept Mystic Armour Power, do these stack or replace?

What about the SecureTech Invisi-shield (Form fitting armour that stacks with other armour.) +1, does this stack with everything else, or does this could in the same way as Adept or Cyber/Bioware Armour +1 (as it's description suggests it does).

I assume that a shield +1 can always be added to the rest (Ballistic Shield from book).

So ultimately, what is the maximum base physical armour and threshold you could have (before spells, metahumans only)?

My take would be a troll with Strength 6, with Military Armour R5), Dermal Plating (R1), Invis-shield (+1), and Ballistic Shield (+1)... So armour R8 with light wound threshold of 14!

Is that correct, or can you only have one of the +1 bonuses in this case, or is there more that could be added?

Thanks guys and girls.

Hi, I have a question I'd ideally like some official clarification on.

If a character has an AMP that gives you Risk Reduction for a skill specialization, but the character does not actually have that specialization, do they still gain the benefit of it?

Let's say for example, a character has RR1 in Physical Perception, but only has the base skill of Perception with no specialization (or a different spec like Astral Perception). How does this play out:

1: They gain the RR1 on their base skill perception tests when physical perception would have otherwise applied.

OR

2: They gain no advantage from the RR1 until they purchase the physical perception specialization.

I'm just wondering what the intention was on how this should work?

Thanks.
