Hello all,

I have been camping my whole life, but new to the solo camping. I'm middle aged and working with a tent situation. My daughter lives in Florida and I want to visit her and camp over the holidays come winter. I understand I will need sand stakes, but that is as far as I have gotten with researching the differences.

Some questions -

Do Florida state parks allow camp fires?

What kind of animals are expected, and any basic rules to follow to mitigate animals? (I'm thinking gators, but really, no clue).

Best campgrounds? (northern half of the state)

Any thoughts on coast vs inland?

Any information you can give me I would appreciate.
