Need Advice regarding PCOS and irregular periods

Hi everyone, I need your advice or insights from anyone who has gone through this. I am 28F and feel so stuck in this endless cycle with birth control.

I was put on the pill years ago because of PCOS and irregular periods. But its been a constant on-and-off thing. Every time I try to get off it, the exact same thing happens. I will miss my period for 1 or 2 months, and then out of nowhere, i get non stop heavy bleeding that lasts for months. It gets so bad that my doctor just puts me back on birth control to make it stop.

The most frustrating part is that I feel like I'm doing everything right.

  • I eat really healthy (no junk, no dairy, no gluten, barely any sugar)
  • I exercise and do strength training regularly
  • My BMI is in the normal range.
  • I got my thyroid and blood sugar checked many times, and its always normal

I am just so tired of using birth control as a band-aid, but my body goes crazy without it. I really wanna be off of it for good.

Has anyone else dealt with this? If you have PCOS and successfully got off birth control, what actually worked for you? Please share because I dont know what to do anymore.
