Anchoring a sail shade to 2nd floor extension on home
I want to get a sail shade for my deck, to cover a 9X13 space. My plan would be to use two poles with cement in the ground, and anchor the other sides into load bearing studs in the home. My concern is that this would be attached to a 2nd floor extension that wasn’t necessary designed for significant outward /upward tension that the sail would require.
Has anyone used a sail shade attached to an extension? Is this something to be concerned about?
