15 YOE IT PM (ex-IBM) facing 40 days of total silence. My consulting runway is gone, and I need immediate income—how do I bypass ATS filters and find companies hiring right now?

I’ll be completely raw with you all because the polished LinkedIn networking isn’t working, and I am in a genuinely tough spot. For 15 years, I’ve been the guy hired to fix enterprise crises, rescue failing projects, and lead teams through the fire.

Today, I’m the one whose career pipeline is in crisis.

For the last 40 days, I have treated job hunting like a full-time job—tailoring resumes, fighting ATS algorithms, and applying across the EU, Oceania, and local markets in India. The result has been absolute, crushing silence.

To answer the immediate questions of "Why the sudden urgency?" and "Why not just wait it out locally?": I took a leap a few years ago. After 12 years at IBM, I left to build my own business. It was a masterclass in resilience, but recently I transitioned into independent Agile consulting. The harsh reality is that the contract pipeline dried up faster than I anticipated. The gaps between paychecks became too wide, and my financial runway is essentially gone.

I urgently need the stability and higher earning potential of a full-time role or an offshore remote contract. I am knocking on every single door here in India, but my entire IBM career was spent managing Western enterprise clients (like AT&T), so my working style is calibrated for those markets. I do not care if the paycheck comes from Bangalore, Dublin, or Sydney—I just need to work, and I don't have the luxury of a 6-month passive job hunt.

I am highly capable. I just can't get past the automated filters.

  • 15+ years of experience.
  • 12 years at IBM leading massive Telecom/Cloud deployments and managing teams of 60+.
  • Scaled my own business, handling full P&L and operations.
  • Currently integrating GenAI into Agile IT workflows.
  • Visa: My degree is Anabin H+ recognized (fast-track EU Blue Card eligible) and I am fully open to employer sponsorship in AUS/NZ. I am a zero-friction hire.

I know the rules of this subreddit, so I am not asking for a job, a referral, or a handout. I am asking for a lifeline in the form of raw, strategic advice from people who have been in the trenches:

  1. Immediate Contract Platforms: Traditional applications take months I don't have. What elite freelance/B2B networks actually yield immediate placements for senior enterprise PMs?
  2. Bypassing the Location ATS: I suspect my current address is causing instant auto-rejections for EU/AUS roles despite my Blue Card eligibility. How exactly should I format my location/visa status on applications to stop this?
  3. Profile Overhaul: I am completely exhausted from guessing what the ATS wants. What are the harsh truths about my profile? Does the gap spent running my own business flag as a negative to corporate hiring managers?
  4. Direct Contacts Strategy: How do I find and pitch the actual human beings (headhunters, PMO Directors) who look at offshore talent, instead of throwing resumes into the void?

If you've ever hit a wall in your career and needed someone to just point you in the exact right direction, you know how I feel right now. I will work incredibly hard to implement any advice you give me.

Thank you for reading.

[Advice Needed] 15+ YOE Senior IT Project Manager (ex-IBM) from India targeting the EU, Australia, & NZ. 40 days applying, zero callbacks. How do I bypass location filters?

Hi everyone,

I’m a Senior IT Project Manager and CSM based in India, actively looking to relocate to the EU (specifically Ireland, Netherlands, Germany), Australia, or New Zealand, or to secure full-time remote enterprise contracts.

I've been sending out customized applications for the last 40 days but haven't received a single reply. I highly suspect my resume is getting caught in ATS location filters before a human ever sees it. I'd love some candid advice on how to pivot my strategy.

My Profile:

  • Total Experience: 15+ years.
  • Corporate IT Delivery: Spent 12 years at IBM leading large-scale, multi-region telecom deployments and cloud integrations for enterprise clients (managing cross-functional teams of 60+).
  • Operational Leadership: Left corporate to co-found and run an operational business for 6 years, handling full P&L, customer strategy, and scaling revenue by 300%.
  • Current Role: Independent IT Project Consultant, focusing heavily on Agile transformation and integrating Generative AI tools to optimize IT service delivery.
  • Visa Status: * EU: My degree (B.E. Information Technology) is Anabin H+ recognized, making me fully eligible for fast-track EU Blue Card sponsorship.
    • AUS / NZ: Highly interested in employer-sponsored pathways (e.g., Subclass 482/186 in Australia, or the Accredited Employer Work Visa in NZ) and currently evaluating independent skilled migration points.

What I'm Currently Doing:

  • Customizing my CV for every role to highlight quantifiable metrics (e.g., $1.3M in cost savings, 35% manual effort reduction).
  • Adding "EU Blue Card Eligible | Open to AUS/NZ Employer Sponsorship | Available for Immediate Relocation" in bold right under my name.
  • Applying to senior roles (IT Project Manager, Scrum Master, Delivery Lead) mostly via LinkedIn and direct company portals.

My Questions for the Community:

  1. Recruiters: Are there specific tech recruitment agencies or headhunters in the EU, Australia, or NZ that actively champion offshore senior talent?
  2. The ATS Blackhole: Is there a better way to format my location and visa eligibility on the application itself to stop the immediate auto-rejections?
  3. Direct Pitching: For those who made the move at a senior/managerial level, did you find more success directly messaging PMO Directors/Hiring Managers on LinkedIn rather than fighting the ATS?

Any advice, reality checks, or consultant recommendations would be massively appreciated. Thank you!
