So I’m possibly picking up an Ioniq 5 this weekend. It’ll be my first electric.

I’ve read enough threads in here to know that all else being equal, I’ve no reason to fret about range on a road trip. However, on *this* road trip I’ll have a rooftop cargo carrier and a bike rack. My understanding is that I can expect a 20-30% range reduction with that extra baggage.

This trip will go through west Texas, New Mexico, Utah, etc., and I’m most worried about the west Texas/NM bits. There’s a lot of wide open spaces there.

I *could* take my wife’s hybrid SUV instead, but if I get this car I’m gonna want to drive it. I’m just trying to determine how anxious or miserable it might make me.

Is this stupid? Any thoughts are welcome.
