To keep a long story short, earlier this summer I came to the realization that Tennessee Whiskey was in fact not a Chris Stapleton original, but a cover originally written for David Allan Coe in ‘81.

I then listened to DAC’s version and IMMEDIATELY fell in love and honestly enjoy it more than Stapleton’s version (tho his is still amazing, maybe just overplayed since it’s 2015 release) but it led me to wonder why I’d never heard it before, and if people just generally like Stapleton’s better.

Thoughts?
