Formatting Performance Assessment Tasks

So I just transferred to WGU and just want to gain some insight on what the expectations are for papers that they want you to submit. I have seen a couple of posts where some people have said to basically just answer the questions the way they are written, like in a lettered/numbered format. But I want to know if there are some times where they want you to specifically connect the ideas and format it like a research paper instead of answering individual questions? I usually do papers how I was taught which is like at least 3 main pieces: an introductory paragraph, the body (or main idea) and a conclusion. Are there some assignments that require this?

I submitted my first task and just answered the questions in the numbered format and it seemed to be acceptable. I haven’t had my second task graded yet. I am working on my 3rd and final task and I want to know if the expectations for a traditional research paper format are higher with the final tasks of a class or if I should just answer the questions in the numbered/letter format like I did for the first task.

Sorry if this is a confusing way to ask or too long. I know I’m probably overthinking but I don’t want to be delayed because of a silly mistake I’m really hoping to accelerate through the classes I find easy. Thanks in advance for any help. I really want to do well but get nervous asking the instructor for some reason.
