OCD & Trauma

Recently I came across this quote from Dutch Psychologist Akke-Jeanne Klerk:

“Excessive analyzing and rumination are stress responses on a mental level. They create the illusion of control over pain.”

This wasn’t referring to OCD, but as someone who’s OCD stems from childhood trauma I thought it was a really intriguing concept. That my OCD is in some way actually trying to help me cope with pain. Ironic given the fact that it causes me so much pain and anxiety in itself.

Does anyone else relate to this?

Steps not counting AND deleting

Not only is my Inspire 3 not counting steps properly but the app is deleting steps. I know by the km and the time that I did thousands more steps than either the app or watch is saying.

ETA: The step count increased to 32k from 17k when I disconnected my device, but as soon as I connected to the app it went back to 17k.

Is there a step glitch at the moment?
