How to quit??

I started at a new school this year & it is literally my own personal hell. I don’t want to be unprofessional but I have hated every single second of working there. I used to love teaching but this is nothing like what I’m used to.

I told my principal on Friday that I think this is a bad fit & I’m not who they want for this role. I was given the run around for an hour(!) and then was basically told in a nice way “you can’t quit, we’d be screwed, and you kinda promised us you’d work here this year”.

I dread going in every day, I don’t like the students, they don’t like me, I spend all day irritated and angry. What do I do? Suck it up? Be honest with them? I don’t want to jeopardize my professional future but I can’t do this

I’m Desperate

For the past 7 years I’ve taught seniors at the best school in the state. A coach retired last year & I thought nothing of it… Until magically the coach they hired wanted to teach my classes I was let go. Completely blindsided & devastated me.

I got another job over the summer working at a not-so-great school teaching elementary school. It’s night and day. I have hated every single day. There’s so much that the only emotion I feel is overwhelmed. I have applied to what feels like 100 jobs.

I don’t need a lot of money, but I also don’t want to be poor. I mostly want a job that allows me to see my wife & children. I worked a job right out of college that didn’t let me off until 7 and that was ok then but I couldn’t do that now with a family. Please help me brainstorm, I really don’t think my heart is in teaching anymore.

Starting my own store (?)

Hello folks! I am strongly considering opening up my own antique stores with booths for rent. I found a storefront in the downtown portion of my town and the rent is only $800 a month. It’s around 1,300 sq ft and I think I could fit between 10-12 booths. There are already 4 antique malls in the area though, with 2 being well established strong holds. Is this a good plan? What am I not thinking about that might be a hurdle? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
