Question: is something wrong with pedal that I need to fix or do I get a new one?

I’ve seen some of people saying the rock band pedal isn’t compatible with guitar hero drums. Which is funny cuz I plugged it in and it worked fine. Another thing is when I plugged it into the “pedal” output it doesn’t register but when I plugged it into the one on top it registers. Now all of a sudden it stopped working. Should I take a look inside or should I get a new one?
