Alternative to long runs

I was wondering what the generals consensus is on swapping out a long run for an alternative eg: watt bike, ski erg ,row erg ect .for context I do a 3xfb a week and 3 runs (easy, interval, long) and a high intensity circuit . Im in the army so I train primarily for short distance running/ cardio from 2km to 6km , while also trying to be semi decent at tabbing/rucking . I just find long runs fucking boring and am wondering what people's experience with swapping it with a bike or rower.

Cheers

Transfering to 29 Commando

I'm currently looking to either transfer to 29 or have a go at SRPC for 4/73, and just had a few questions about aacc. I believe the beat up, which used to be separate, is now joint between 29 and 24 was just wondering how it works and where it is now. What phys standards would i be looking at to be towards the front of the pack? I'm currently standing with a 6:50 2k 18 pullups, and around 58 pushups in the sca, what should I be striving for? I'm currently guns and have been offered to do fst level 2 course, and I was wondering if I could go straight to 29 in a fst and how it works since my current unit is armoured, whereas 29 OP's are dismounted. It's been a minute since ive done any infanteering skills do they sort of reteach on the course? What's the crack with using non-issued kit eg: keela, tailored bergens, jetboilts ect . Im aware 148 bty do some gucci shit and was wondering what the pathway there would look like. I appreciate I've asked a lot of questions, but any info would be great, cheers.
