Opening Biz on UES
Hi all!
I live in the neighborhood (76th and 2nd) and am exploring opening my own wealth management firm. I am a late 20‘s CFP who works with young families and professionals on a fee only basis. I have some questions for the group, if relevant to you, the feedback/answers are appreciated!
Do you currently see/use an advisor/planner?
Would a club type of experience that offers exclusive perks, benefits and experiences be enticing if it improved your quality of life? (For example, having someone be able to book your flight for cheapest price, find emergency coverage for childcare or exclusive dinner res’s in the neighborhood?)
What does your advisor do that keeps you loyal? Or in the other lens, what does your advisor not do that you wish they would?
What is the biggest financial challenge you face today?
Do you value knowing all the technical details of your life or like to keep it simple and trust the pros?
What type of promotion, value prop would entice you to speak with a random advisor who just pops up on your block? (complimentary financial plan? discount on fee? exclusive sign up offer?) / basically what would get you to have a conversation vs just view it as another money guy in the neighborhood?
I am the new era of wealth management and I do things differently than the old guard. Advisors have gotten so lazy and comfortable with up markets that people have forgotten what good service truly is. Don’t worry about answering all q’s just whatever ones you have a thought on. Let me know thoughts, any and all feedback is really appreciated! Thanks!
