Hi everyone

I'm about to graduate with my BSc Biomedical sciences degree in the UK in july. I'm looking for research assistant jobs and came across this post on LinkedIn from a PI looking for research assistants. I do fit the criteria and I'm preparing my application to apply but I was wondering if I should also text her on linkedin after applying? I'm not sure if it's appropriate and if it is, what should the text essentially convey? Is it like the one finance/tech/law bros send to the recruiters? Any help or guidance would be appreciated!
