Starting a clothing brand – need advice on production decisions

Hey everyone,

I’m starting a women’s clothing brand focused on minimal, high-quality basics (tees, hoodies, sweats, crop tops). Clean/neutral colors, slightly oversized fit.

I’ve been looking into both overseas production and US-based manufacturing, but I’m not sure which route makes more sense starting out.

Budget is around $10k and I plan to start small (samples first, then 50–100 units per style).

- Did you go overseas or domestic first?

- What were the biggest challenges early on?

- Anything you would do differently starting out?

- How did you balance quality vs cost?
