Flow Z13 keyboard corner damage and protection mod

So basically I drop my Rog Flow Z13 keyboard from 3 feet onto the hard tile floor causing the corner to a small raised lip.

= The How =

I took the keyboard off the tablet and placed it to the side off me near the edge of the table. I did this so I could take written notes with the pen and the tablet laying flat on the table. When I went to reach for a folder I bumped the keyboard with my arm and it fell to the hard tile floor. I think it landed on the inside corner and the sharp corner cut into the fabric of the keyboard.

= The Concern =

Now this corner has a small raised lip that I'm afraid over time will cause the fabric to start peeling off the keyboard cover.

= The Solution =

I didn't want this to happen to the other corner of the keyboard where it to fall again and I don't want the damage corner to catch on something. Then I remembered that back in the day they would sell protective full body military grade films that you could apply to your electronics. I even applied one to my new 3DS which it still has to this very day.

= The Mod =

They don't sell full body films anymore but they do sell them as screen protectors for phones. My phone has one applied and I had an extra. I got the film cut the corners and applied it to the keyboard cover. Now both corners have protection from further falls and I don't have to worry about the damaged corner starting to peel off.

P.S. - There is another slightly unethical solution, at least for me. It's only been a couple days since I bought the tablet from best buy. I could technically return it and exchange it for another. They have more stock in store so I won't even have to wait for it to get shipped. What would you guys do?
