Menorrhagia woes

After bouncing around drs offices and the ER for around a month they finally stopped the bleeding with hormones and I needed a few blood transfusions. I've been taking hormones since and I finally got to speak with an ob who said I could have an IUD or take birth control, I really hate taking birth control and I don't want an IUD either but those were the only treatment options he said was available. Am I hooped here? I have zero reason to take birth control outside of this issue and even sincerely asked if I could have surgery to just remove everything as my mother had the same issue and had hers removed. The OB said it was too invasive and pushed really hard for me to get an IUD which I just explained why I wasn't interested in it.

Just super annoyed, there was no clear indication why it started, I've taken all the tests and had an internal ultrasound to confirm no fibroids or polyps. The OB basically shrugged his shoulders and said "that sucks, get an IUD"
