We Miss the bus

I think in the hype of the best team on papers, Best Auction buys, Cheap Deals. We somehow missed the bus at least for the current season.

Looking at the batting lineups of other teams all of them even LSG and KKR have one or sometimes even two three X- Factors players in opening as well as in death. We had Ashu to an extent for death overs and finishing who has this flair and factor about him but was not utilised by this management properly.

I know we bought duckett but he was not giving me confidence from the moment we picked him and we couldn't even find a suitable replacement.

Delhi needs an overhaul not in the players pool but in Management or even in Ownership.

What are your thoughts?

PS : Watching Jos English dismantling CSK bowling in the first 4 overs and dreaming of this kind of start for Delhi in coming Matches.

Edit : Now after watching Urvil, I am thinking we are way far behind.

I love football as much as cricket, and this is something that has genuinely worried me about Delhi Capitals.

When ISL started, I was excited to have Delhi Dynamos as our club. But the support was poor empty stadiums, little city connect, almost no football culture built around the team. Eventually the franchise relocated and became Odisha FC. As a Delhi fan, that was painful to watch.

Sometimes I feel DC has shades of that story.

Let’s be honest DC isn’t among the most commercially or emotionally dominant IPL franchises. Support can look muted compared to some other teams. But there’s one big difference: the fanbase that does exist is incredibly loyal. People have stuck with this team through 19 years of disappointment, collapses, rebuilds, and near-misses.

My concern is this: instead of fixing what seems broken management instability, coaching issues, this 50-50 ownership structure what if someday ownership chooses an easier route and moves/disbands/rebrands the franchise?

That would be devastating personally, and unfair to loyal supporters who’ve invested emotionally for nearly two decades waiting for success.

Am I overthinking this, or do others worry about this too? Can an IPL franchise even realistically face a Delhi Dynamos-style fate?
