Based in England. Viewed a house with a well-known estate agent with multiple branches and received a voicemail from the agent asking for my feedback. She must have forgotten to put the phone down and I could clearly hear her say to her colleagues something along the lines of “these bloody foreigners are cheeky buggers” and went on to rant about what I assume are other clients who were requesting to put an offer in. Her colleagues can be heard laughing in the background. I’m a person of colour myself with a visibly ethnic name so obviously feel very uncomfortable and upset about this. I called to complain and she said the practice manager would call me back but didn’t receive a call.
I’ve since emailed head office outlining my concerns and the owner of the estate agency has personally responded asking for a meeting in person and a copy of the recording. Just wondering what my options might be? Love the house but obviously quite wary to engage with the company going forward.
