Hey everyone,

I've been searching through the subreddit along with the mega thread and I keep seeing conflicting information given my current situation.

I'm a Canadian Citizen born and raised and girlfriend of 2 years, soon to be fiance, is an American Citizen born and raised. We're planning on having her immigrate and move in with me. Ideally, we'd want the quickest option so that we can live together.

Our first option is getting married soon after our engagement and applying for outland sponsorship. Following that, we would have to drive her car up from Florida to BC with her dog and some possessions. Based on my searching, it seems like this is an option and there wouldn't be an issue with her coming during the PR process, as long as we state that she would return if denied.

The second option would be us traveling with her car, dog and possessions to the border and entering as visitor. We would then get married, initiate the inland process and extend the visitor visa if need be.

Leaving the dog behind isn't an option. It should also be noted that her immediate family will still be in Florida.

We're both leaning toward option 2 as it would be quicker for us to live together. What would be extra considerations for both? We want to be honest and avoid her being barred from entry and/or any legal matters.
