Live wallpaper with real physics: sand, bubbles and gel. Tilt the phone and everything flows.

The glass behind the icons is a live simulation, not a video loop. Sand pours grain by grain, bubbles rise into foam, gel squeezes through the necks. Tilt the phone and everything flows to the new down.

Sand-physics toy: tilt your phone

App Name: Dunarium

What it does: Dunarium is a digital version of the moving-sand-art desk picture. Tilting the phone is the only control - the accelerometer sets gravity, and about 100k simulated grains avalanche toward the low edge at 60fps (custom C engine). The demo video was recorded with the app's built-in clip recorder.

Key Features:

  • 15 glass shapes (hourglass, labyrinth, heart, spiral...), 22 sand palettes, 25 backgrounds
  • Portrait mode - pick a photo, it rebuilds in sand
  • Zen / Sleep / Focus modes with sound generated from the sand's motion
  • Built-in clip recorder for seamless loops
  • 100% offline, no ads, no account

Goal: Launch

Feedback is welcome - especially how tilt feels on your device and battery use in longer sessions!

[OC] Sand, gel, and bubbles reacting to phone tilt

I built this as a small Android sand toy.

The phone tilt controls gravity, so the sand pours toward the low edge while bubbles rise through the gel. You can stir it, shake it into a new scene, freeze gravity, or just let it settle.

It is called Dunarium.

PS. I’d be happy to hear your feedback. Don’t hesitate to share 😊
