Guys, I wanted an opinion/account from someone who has gone through something similar. I had a very bad flu, probably influenza, with fever, body aches, sore throat, runny nose, and a lot of malaise. After that, it evolved into a very strong sinusitis for about 20 days, with thick green mucus, pain in my eyebrow, eye, cheekbone, headache, fatigue, and a temperature around 37.5 degrees Celsius for a few days. After a while, the main symptoms of sinusitis improved: I stopped feeling that strong pain in my eyebrow, eye, and cheekbone. However, a few days later, a very strange feeling of depersonalization/derealization began, as if I wasn't fully in my body, doing things automatically, with mental fog and difficulty organizing my thoughts. After that, a feeling of pressure in my head/skull also began, mainly on the right side, with stabbing pains/pressure at the top of my head, pain or discomfort in the right nape of my neck and occipital/lateral region of my head. Sometimes I feel nauseous, dizzy/floating, and have a feeling that I'm going to faint. I also feel something strange in my right ear, not exactly hearing loss, but a different sensation, as if it were connected to the Eustachian tube/labyrinth, muffled head or "noise cancellation". My right eye also feels strange sometimes, kind of weaker/blurry, but I already have congenital astigmatism and nystagmus in that eye. My right eyelid has also started to twitch. I went to the ENT, he evaluated my ear/nose, said I have a deviated septum and prescribed amoxicillin + clavulanate, prednisone for 5 days and mometasone nasal spray. I started treatment on Saturday. I skipped a dose of the antibiotic on Sunday night, but then resumed. I don't have a high fever, I can eat and sleep, but the depersonalization, dizziness, pressure in my head and strange right ear persist. My question is: can this happen after a strong flu/sinusitis due to residual inflammation, Eustachian tube/labyrinth, vestibular migraine or cervical tension? Or could it indicate that the sinusitis has progressed to something deeper, like sphenoid/ethmoid sinusitis, or some other complication? Has anyone experienced depersonalization, dizziness, nausea, a strange feeling in the ear, and pressure in the skull/head after sinusitis or a severe flu? How long did it take to improve with antibiotics/corticosteroids?

Comecei o tratamento no sábado.
