We are visiting for two weeks in November, we are currently scheduled to travel from Hong Kong > Shanghai by train (we don’t want to take the plane). We have two options:
Option 1: Spend day in HK until 6/7PM > take sleeper train to Shanghai > arrive at 7AM
we’re a bit worried as we can’t sleep too well on trains and might be very tried upon arrival
Option 2: depart HK to Shenzhen at 9/10AM, explore shenzhen for the day and stay at a hotel > 7AM train to Shanghai the following day arriving at 3PM and having the afternoon to explore
We will have around 3 full days in HK (Arriving Friday night-Tuesday is check out) and 4/5 days in Shanghai as well.
Would Shenzhen be worth the additional stop? It won’t affect our itinerary much, the travel seems a bit more pleasant as we enjoy day trains we’d just have a bit less time in HK and Shanghai by a few hours
Is there also any spots in Shenzhen that people recommend?
