There is a lot of debate between Catholics and Protestants about sola scriptura, and there is one argument that I’ve never seen a Protestant use but would stump me as a Catholic:

A Protestants defence of how we know what is scripture would be the Holy Spirit (infallible) guided men (fallible) and therefore the outcome is infallible.

A Catholic would say Jesus (infallible) set up a Church (infallible) and therefore the outcome is infallible.

The Protestant argument is fallible because the Holy Spirit claim is a human fallible interpretation of scripture. But at the same time the Catholic claim that Jesus set up an infallible Church is also a human fallible interpretation of scripture, is it not?

So both claims are fallible?

Any response to this would help me so much!! God bless 🙏🙏
