I live in Cyprus, and there’s something I can’t stop noticing.

Trees are being cut so aggressively that sometimes only trunks remain.

No leaves. No shade. No chance.

I understand that trees need pruning. But this doesn’t look like care — it looks like damage.

Trees are not decorations.

They give us shade, cooler air, and life in a very hot climate.

And here’s the part that worries me most:

Some of these trees never recover.

Why are we doing this?

And more importantly, can we do better?

I would love to hear from people who understand tree care, municipalities, or anyone who has seen similar practices.

Because Cyprus deserves more trees, not less
