Why do I need to make a new H&R account if I already made kne last year for my 2024 tax returns?

I was about to sign into my 2024 profile(by joining with the link I used for verification last year in my email) but when I tried to file again, it kept asking about "2024" specific questions but I wasn't able to adjust the year.

Then I went to the website to sign in but they didn't recognize my email even though i already have an account and password?

Did this happen for anyone else?

Do I need to keep making an account for each year? April 30th is the deadline so I'm pressed for time.
