Giant D-Fuse SL and SLR handlebar

Giant D-Fuse SL and SLR handlebar

Has anyone here tested both the Giant D-Fuse SL and D-Fuse SLR handlebars?

Giant claims that the D-Fuse design allows the bar to flex for extra comfort, supposedly removing the need for suspension systems like those from Specialized or Trek.

I’m currently using the SL aluminium D-Fuse handlebar, and honestly, I don’t feel any noticeable flex in normal riding. It feels very stiff, and I’m not convinced it adds much comfort.

For those who have tried the SLR carbon version, is it actually more comfortable?
Is the difference significant enough to feel on the road?

Thanks for your feedback!

Edit: Thanks — maybe the Giant video is a bit too theoretical. When you watch it, the flex looks really pronounced, but it might just be in theory. https://www.giant-bicycles.com/ca/d-fuse-technology

Giant Gravia Fondo 0

Giant Gravia Fondo 0

Hello everyone,

I just picked up my brand‑new Giant Defy Advanced Pro 1 (thanks again for the great advice!). I’m loving the bike so far. The only thing I’m unsure about is the tires.

It came with Giant Gavia Fondo 0 in 32 mm. I didn’t know much about these tires beforehand, and honestly I didn’t think about changing them before delivery.

On my previous bike I was riding Continental GP5000 in 25 mm, so moving to 32 mm, I was expecting a noticeable jump in comfort — and especially in speed, considering my new bike is 15 years newer.

For those of you who have ridden the Gavia Fondo 0, I’d love your feedback.

Do you think switching to a higher‑end 32 mm tire would bring a significant improvement in comfort and speed?

PS i ride about 5000km per year (only rode 6 month per years due to weather) so ride them until they are worn will take about 2 years

Thanks

Hi,

I need to decide which Giant Defy Advanced I should buy.

The Pro 1 is $1,500 CAD more, and I’d like your opinion on whether the differences are worth it.

I have to say I prefer the white color of the Pro compared to the Meteorite color, although I could live with either.

The differences Pro1 vs advance0 are:

• Wheels: SLR 1 vs SLR 2

• Groupset: SRAM Rival AXS vs Shimano 105 Di2

• Powermeter: SRAM included

• Seatpost: more flex for added comfort and lighter

• Fork: lighter SL fork

• Accessories included: bottle cage + computer mount

• Saddle: Fleet SLR (more flex) vs Approach

If I bought all these upgrades separately, the total value would be over $2,000.

I’d like your opinion on whether these differences translate into real improvements in comfort and speed.
