Found this infestation on an English ivy I have. I've seen a couple of similar looking black bugs on another plant but not this many and no silvery stuff with them. When you crush one it leaves a reddish brown residue. I have been spraying all my plants with fairly strong neem oil for the last few weeks for thrips found on a monstera but this one has been harder to get into the books and crannies. I have put it outside and I will probably toss it but want to know what they are to minimize spread to my alocasias. It gets moderate light set back from a window and is watered when dried out for a few days.
