How do you figure out your preferred sound signature?

I’m still trying to understand my own preferences.

My current top 5 IEMs in order are:

  1. Ziigaat Arcanis

  2. Ziigaat Odyssey

  3. Thieaudio Oracle MKII

  4. Dita Project M

  5. Truthear Pure

What confuses me is that their tunings are pretty different from each other.

Some IEMs I didn’t really enjoy:

BQEYZ Ni

Letshuoer S08

Tangzu Wan’er Red lion

Tangzu Wan’er

Moondrop May (unless EQ’d)

Etc (limited to what I already used)

From my experience, I seem to value technicality more than tuning, but then Odyssey is still one of my favorites even though it’s less technical than some others I own.
