Help - stained plaster

Newish pool owner here. Fell in love with the house and it came with a pool installed during build. Had not been well maintained and surface color was coming up.

Advised by pool folks it was time for new plaster. Worked with a company that was not great and they did the work including tiles and coping as well as water balancing during curing. Not too long after, we saw staining around the waterline of the pool. Plaster co blamed my pool service and vice versa. Decided to acid wash before this season - which helped the organic staining we had from tree debris but did nothing for the stain.

Current situation - pool sits empty after acid wash and I’m trying to find something that will impact the stain. Used a stain test kit which resulted in no clear cut answer, but the scale/copper cleaner did show some improvement.

Help! I want to love my pool, but right now I loathe it, especially after all the money we have poured into it. Advice welcome
