Acestridium dichromum help

I got my first Acestridium dichromum a few days ago, 20 gallon heavily planted tank with ember tetras and a baby bristlenose pleco, ph is 6.5, nitrates nitrites and ammonia all at 0, 1 year old mature tank, it has a HOB filter on the highest setting and the flow is medium, for the first 24 hours the catfish was acting normal, then within a 30 minute span it was dead. The individual was around 2.5 inches long maby a bit bigger, I called the place up and they said that it was most likely a delayed shipping stress reaction and they did a full refund, but now I'm worried, are there any other owners of this species who could give me any tips or maybe potentially guide me? I'm thinking about setting up a completely new tank for species only, these guys are my dream fish and I wanna do it right, general online sources aren't very good at capturing their care so I want to talk to people who have them thriving in their own tanks, thank you in advanced!
