Hey, I am an incoming international student in my first year, and I will be taking Calculus 1 in my first semester. The question is for current ISU students. As I found the book used is Thomas’ Calculus: Early Transcendentals, I see there are too many units to cover in Calculus 1, so I think it is separated. At which unit of this textbook does Calculus 2 start?
I am an incoming freshman in computer engineering, and I have passed ALEKS with a 98% score. There is an option to take the MATH 1660 placement exam, and I know it's to skip Calculus I. I am not fully familiar with it because I went through Khan Academy, and I know probably only 50-60% of it, but at the same time, I do not want to waste my time in the first semester learning parts I already fully understand. Should I go through Khan Academy and review it, take approximately 2-3 weeks and then try the exam?
