How to remove this specific shower faucet knob
I've spent several evenings trying to figure this out and I've failed. I can't find a manual online or any other description of how this specific faucet works.
The "thermostatic" cartridge in this Aquadis (Belanger?) faucet needs to be replaced but I can't figure out how to get the knob off. There isn't a set screw that I can find (picture 2). The larger diameter barrel behind the knobs turn and unscrew independently (picture 3), but the knob needs to come off first.
The obvious answer would seem to be that the bump thing on the front of the knobs are little caps that need to be removed to reveal a screw of some sort, but I can't even get a razor blade in there to pry it off. I can't get a grip on them otherwise to see if the turn or something.
There must be a trick to it, but I don't want to be any more aggressive in case I damage it and I can't find replacements parts.
Does anyone have experience with this faucet? Thanks for any help
