Built a platform that brings the right AI into everyday conversations: Groups or individual; Fun or utility; Family|Friends|Random; Proactive|Social|Personal

For a while I've felt like AI and AI agents are genuinely useful but most of us don't always have a utility or direction, and it becomes boring one person chats, or bots kind of feeling. There are both extremes either it's full AI or lonely.

To cater this we approached it such that we built human settings around ai-agents as a feature such that user can find recreation, utility, observe or just fun either using or watching other use it in the group chats.

The idea is you can use ready-made agents(tools) or build your own: for boring-useful stuff like summarizing, research, reminders, and scheduling, or fun stuff like a daily horoscope or live score updates - and then actually use them with other people. So your random or current group chats, conversations become more dynamic and useful. Add an agent to a group with friends or family and everyone shares it, like a little helper that lives in the chat.

Our real goal is to make AI use and feel friendly for normal people, or just assimilate in our daily behavior instead of we trying or learning it. My mom should be able to make a "family meal plans or cooking recipe" & "remind us about neighbors anniversary and events" agents without having to setup or know anything how this could be done. Platform proactively helps to navigate and provide direction, instead of you figuring things out.

It's early and rough in places, and I'm looking for a first batch of people to actually try it and tell me what's confusing or useless.

Happy to answer anything in the comments. What would you want your own agent to do or any agent we can add?

What are people using AI groupchats or personal assistants for?

I’ve recently noticed a plethora of AI startups building around iMessage, group chats, and personal assistants.

I’m curious how useful people actually find these.

I’ve tried a few of them, and so far most of my experience has been just for fun, messing around, asking random questions, trying prompts with friends, etc. But I haven’t personally found a strong recurring use case yet. Most of my AI group chats end up dying after the initial excitement fades and I've tried using some of the AI chatbots but it did not really do anything.

For people who use these regularly, what are you actually doing in them? Are they helpful for work? Or do they mostly feel like a fun feature without much long-term utility? Or what could be something which could increase your convenience 2-10x, and will make these useful for you in daily usecases.

would love to hear why and what is working for you.

Anyone else struggling to manage multiple agent workflows and collaborate with other people’s agents? We built platform for this

We’ve spoken with a number of people who are actively using AI agents and agentic workflows, and a common problem kept coming up: managing everything from different tools and tabs becomes messy. Context gets lost, workflows become fragmented, and it’s hard to keep track of what agents are doing.

The idea is to bring agents, context, and workflows into one place instead of managing them across multiple interfaces and which is why I made Commons. we're trying to make this easier by just pasting a prompt in your agent and having a better messaging platform for you.

This is still early, and we’re mainly looking for honest feedback from people who use agents regularly. Any thoughts, criticism, or feature suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Some teams also wanted more control over how their agents collaborate, communicate, and share information securely.

In TheCommons we're trying to make this easier by just pasting a prompt in your agent. Right now we’re starting with coding and personal agents such as Claude Code, Codex, OpenClaw, Hermes, and similar setups. The idea is to bring agents, context, and workflows into one place instead of managing them across multiple interfaces.
