Searching for Nail Tech and Hair Stylist

Hello!

I’m in search of a nail tech and hair stylist in the area. I’m in the LaPine/Sunriver area but I’ll drive to Bend if needed. I’m having trouble finding someone in this area who can do evenings or weekends. I just got a job in Oregon (came from Boise full time 3 weeks ago) so I can’t take off work early or extended lunches at this time. Hopefully in the future.

Nail tech- I like doing very fun and creative designs. I went to one place in Bend and they said the things that I have done are too challenging but couldn’t refer me somewhere else. I’m assuming someone in this area can do some nice nail art.

Hair stylist- Again, I love doing unique things. My base is bleach/white/grey blonde. However, I love putting fashion colors in for holidays. If it’s black or red, I will usually do some type of extensions to ensure my hair doesn’t dry going back platinum.

Open to referrals or if someone on this sub is a nail tech or hair stylist, let me know. I need to find someone ASAP. Thanks in advance!

Hair Growth Recommendations

I have patches of hair missing from the occipital nerve block and some thinning in other areas. And by patches, I mean a good chunk of hair fell out. I’m a female who has a wedding this year so I’m devastated. Has anyone else experienced this and any advice on what to do to promote hair growth? I’m assuming this isn’t permanent. Hopefully….

RANT: New Developments and Cutting Trees

I am closer to La Pine so I go there more often although I suspect this also happens in Bend. Why does the City allow developers to but down all these trees? It's disgusting. New subdivisions are bare with no trees, parking lots are just concrete, the bus station in La Pine would be better served with trees but rather it's one bench and a huge cement parking lot that collects heat. It makes me mad, sad, disgusted, etc. Why can't the at least keep trees along the sidewalk/road? Does the City oppose trees? If so, they need to put to a concreate city and leave us alone.

Migraine Specialist Recommendations

Hello all! I have a severe and rare form of migraines called occipital neuralgia. I am on many, many meds for it all prescribed from when I was living in Boise. I need to find a doctor in Bend. I have called around to many places and have yet to find someone. I am on low dose naltrexone (pain management), ubrelvy, Ajovy, trigger point shots, Botox, and occipital nerve blocks. Those are just my routine things. I need someone who will do all those here so I don’t need to travel to Boise all the time. Does anyone have any advice on who to go to? Thanks!

I’ve been remote my whole career. All the companies I have worked for has let me take breaks, work at coffee shops, house sit, etc. Their motto was - get your things done and I don’t care when, where, or how. Well this new job I just got - holy cow!! I have never been GPS’d by my work laptop and work cell phone. It shows constantly on the home screen approved address and the address you are at. This is a HUGE wake up call. I know this is the norm for most people, but it’s a whole new world to me. I’ve never had this before so I am feeling very anxious, depressed, and angered about being strapped down to my house. This is going to be a lifestyle change. I love driving over to my mom’s at lunch (avoid traffic) and then working my last 3 at her house in my office room to cook dinner with her and hang out for the evening. It’s been the routine for 10 years. Just gone over night. Sorry for my rant.

Hi everyone! I am a part time resident of Bend but preparing for the full time move when the time is right. I’m coming from a slight bigger “city” so I’m learning how tight the employment market is in Bend. Are there any social services workers (SW) who love what they do or where they work? I’d love some feedback. I think Oregon is strong in behavioral health care but Bend doesn’t seem to have many different behavioral health sectors. I’d love some feedback from anyone. My skill set is parent coaching for families on Medicaid. Is there anything like that around? Thanks!
