Howard Law and scholarships/financial aid
Hi, i'm a recent 2026 grad, with a BA in foreign affairs and a Masters in Public Policy both from UVA. I plan to apply for law school for the fall 2027 cycle. Howard is one of my top schools and both my GPA and LSAT are above their medians. However, I'm extremly worried about their aid/scholarships. I've been hearing that they've severely decreased the amount of merit aid they give, and that makes me so worried. Before, with my stats it was guaranteed full-tuition at one point but now I hear that the most they will give is 15K, which is not enough for me. Could someone please calm my nerves, like under all best circumstances of applying early having good letter of recommendations and a good personal statement that it's possible I get more aid? Or is everything need-based now? Under need-based, I believe I would still qualify, since I'm currently unemployed, but I heard under need-based they give less. I would love if anyone from last cycle, or even this present cycle who got into Howard PM me or if they don't mind discussing it here comment below about their experience with scholarships/aid. Thanks!
