hello! i'm an incoming freshman looking to find a job for the upcoming semester (being broke asf). i've been browsing through workday and noticed that a few openings for server/associate jobs in the banfi restaurant as well as cornell dining were posted recently.
i wanted to ask everyone who had prev experience applying to campus jobs what the process is like (when do you usually hear back, etc.) and if it would make sense for me to already apply to these jobs before getting on campus. has anyone had experience applying before as an incoming freshman? also, any tips for the application / interview process?

heyy! i'm currently trying to switch out of my hu shih double (room c if that matters) because I got placed into a pod with someone I know that I'm not fully comfortable being with (only an issue with my specific pod and personal circumstances.
i would like to switch into a single/double/triple (only i'll be switching, not my roommate), ideally in a newer dorm (RBG, Hu Shih, McClintok, Balch), or Eco house.

heyy :p sorry that i'm posting as an i*coming freshman just as the ban is getting lifted, the timing js worked out that way.
but as someone who desperately needs a job being broke asf and still forced to pay tuition in full, i just wanted to get on the job search early bc i heard it can get quite competitive. i wanted to ask yall 3 questions:
what would be a good timeline to start applying for jobs on workday? i noticed that it's already open, but i wanted to know if we should start applying during the summer (perhaps july/august) or after the semester resumes?
what are recommended jobs for freshmen without much experience? i've been seeing a lot of research assistant jobs, and for me those would be great because it would be less pure-labor but something that could also be academically enriching somehow? but i wanted to know if those would be open to freshmen or not really. besides that, any recommendations for easier jobs to secure? (as in easy to get accepted)
i guess this is a little bit more niche, but i also wanted to briefly know the experience for internationals getting a campus job (if there are any intls out there to answer this quesiton!). from what i hear, i wouldn't need any additional documentation or sponsoring etc. but would i have any disadvantage coming to the campus recruitment process?
