The secretary took some questions at “FIFA Social Impacts” conference I was at today in Vancouver. Had my Caps jersey on :). I’ve uploaded the video of his reply. I asked kind of a generic question about what is the federal government doing to keep professional supports teams in Canada given that there’s so much financial and tax incentive in the states (thanks everyone in this subreddit for helping draft this question in real time). I recorded his answer and it’s attached to a video here. Secretary was touting the big $750 million sports investment announced yesterday by Carney government. He added directly in response to a question asked after mine that none of that $ is for professsional sports. Not a surprise.
