MESHROOM S With front GPU

One of the reasons I love SSUPD cases is the flexibility they offer. **please disregard the last two images. i accidentally added them. those where when I was just testing how to mount it**

I just wanted to share that you can mount the GPU in the front of the case using hardware that comes with the case. Just take a look at the pictures for more details.

A few important notes:

This is an unofficial mounting configuration and is not something the case was designed for, so try it at your own risk. The PCIe connection does work, but the riser cable is angled in a somewhat unusual way because it was not designed to be routed in this direction.

I think a newer or updated version of this case could potentially offer a much better solution for mounting the GPU in the front. It would be great to see SSUPD design an official mounting option that makes use of this configuration while providing a cleaner and more straightforward PCIe connection.

Specs:

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D

Motherboard: MSI X870I

AIO: Corsair Nautilus RS LCD 240mm

GPU: ASUS Prime RTX 5070 Ti, deshrouded

Fans: 2x 140mm Lian Li fans as intake

Temperatures while doing regular office work:

CPU: 49-52°C

GPU: 28-30°C

I haven't really tested gaming temperatures much since I just built it, but I played The Witcher 3 yesterday and saw around 65°C on the GPU and 61°C on the CPU.

I'll update the post in the future with more temperature results.

A Vertical Meshroom D is Underrated

Just wanted to share this build because I don't see enough people running the SSUPD Meshroom D in its vertical orientation. I personally love it, and the airflow in this layout is super solid.

Mods & Airflow Setup:

  • GPU Deshroud: I deshrouded the Sapphire Nitro+ GPU and strapped two 140mm Lian Li fans directly to the heatsink running at a static 75% speed.
  • AIO Mount: Currently using a 240mm be quiet! Light Loop set to exhaust. I decided against going with a 360mm radiator since I already had this unit on hand, and thermals have been completely fine with it.
  • Top Pass-through: There is an open hole at the top section from the layout, so Goku is currently on duty covering it up.

Thermals:

  • Idle: ~47°C CPU / ~28°C GPU
  • Gaming: CPU stays under 60°C / GPU sits consistently between 56°C – 62°C

Specs:

  • Case: SSUPD Meshroom D (Vertical Config)
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
  • Motherboard: MSI MPG X870I Edge WiFi
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Sapphire Nitro+ (Deshrouded)
  • Cooler: be quiet! Light Loop 240mm AIO
  • Add-ons: 35mm feet, 360mm External Fan Bracket from SSUPD, Lian Li 8.8 screen

Eye Spy with My Little Eye a Meshroom D

Wanted to share my living room PC setup! It blends right into the entertainment console alongside the toddler toys and books.

The Backstory:

I’m a working dad, so my primary gaming time is late at night after my son goes to sleep. Since I work from home, spending my evening staring at the exact same desk I sat at all day was the last thing I wanted to do if I wanted to game.

To fix that, I built a secondary living room PC. The Meshroom D fits into the shelf space ridiculously well, almost looking like a piece of home audio gear (especially with the wood front panel trim).

I also added dual exhaust fans mounted to the top of the media console right above the case to pull hot air straight out of the shelf compartment so thermals stay under control.

Console-Like Experience:

My goal was to make this operate seamlessly like a regular console:

  • Controller Setup: I strictly use a Steam Controller.
  • OS & Boot: Running Windows 11 configured to bypass the login password screen and launch straight into Steam Big Picture Mode on startup.
  • Remote Powering: I integrated a smart plug paired with Google Home and motherboard BIOS settings (Restore on AC Power Loss) so I can turn the PC on hands-free without getting up to press the power button.

*(I’ve thought about making a quick video guide on setting up the auto-login and smart switch integration, but between work and family time, filming and editing isn't in the cards right now! Here is an old video I filmedhttps://youtube.com/shorts/UEOpZOdLcnc?is=ABP8\_6TIYkZEZOEQ )*

Thermals:

Since I target 4K at 60Hz on the TV, the system barely breaks a sweat:

  • CPU: 50°C – 57°C (rarely hits 60°C)
  • GPU: 50°C – 60°C depending on the game

Specs:

  • Case: SSUPD Meshroom D
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X
  • Motherboard: ASRock B650I Lightning WiFi
  • Cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer III 240 (Exhaust configuration)
  • GPU: ASUS RTX 5070 Ti

Hopefully this gives some inspiration to anyone looking to set up a stealthy living room gaming rig!
