OLED or QLED Monitors for gaming?
I currently own a Samsung Odyssey G5 27” and it’s been doing me solid. The 1440p looks great, and I’m happy with the refresh rate, but I recently got my first job after graduating high school, so I finally have some extra money to spend.
I’ve been considering upgrading to a good 4K 34” curved OLED or QLED monitor. I know the prices are high, but my biggest concern is OLED burn-in. That said, in 2–3 years I’ll likely have a much better income, so I honestly wouldn’t mind replacing the monitor down the line if burn-in eventually became an issue.
My plan would be to use my current G5 as a secondary monitor rather than buying another identical display.
For reference, the games I play most are: DARK SOULS, Elden Ring, Overwatch, Wuthering Waves, Terraria, Crimson Desert, Older PlayStation titles
What would you guys recommend going for a high end OLED now, or sticking with something like a QLED/mini-LED for longevity? Curious what the monitor pros here would do in my situation.
(P.S. ; yes my pc can handle it, that is obv a big thing I gotta have first of all)
