Surely this 2 1 fingering can’t be right? How would you LH this?
Hi, I’m 9 months into my piano journey and I’m still developing a sense for the right fingerings vs the right ones for me, so I may be completely mistaken, but the LH fingerings here seem quite odd? As far as I’m aware, 1 on a black key is usually disencouraged, especially for beginners (this is from an ABRSM Grade 3 piece). Coming from the stretch of C with 5, bringing your thumb all the way up to Bb feels like quite a lot for a beginner? But maybe I'm wrong, in which case I rather know now when I can still correct it.
I’ve worked out fingerings 5 for C, 1 for A, 2 for Bb and then 5-3 for F-A, but I’m guessing that’s also not great? Finishing the phrase in 5-3 feels “wrong”, but I don’t know.
How would you play this?
