Saturn 4 ultra 16k calibration inconsistent outcome

Hello hive mind,

I know that calibration comes so often and people get tired of answering such questions, but maybe some kind soul will help me understand this:

I am running cones of calibration as I changed the resin - previously I used Elegoo water washable 2.0, Siraya tech fast, Elegoo abs like 3.0 - and now I started with Sunlu 14 mixed with Siraya tech tenacious 9:1.

Running plain sunlu I noticed that I need to drop down the exposure times from 2.1 to 1.6. now with mix I was expecting to slightly increase the exposure times but now I don't even know what's happening.

Running cones of calibration I don't really get the sword to fit the skull, the ale fits in other hand. Also as you can see on pictures I narrowed down to test between 1.51 and 1.41. and it seems that sample 5 always seems to be better exposed that any other - see at cones that are fully build at 1.43sec and others are collapsing even with longer exposure. It seems that sample 3 is a bit "thicker" as well. So the middle of plate/screen have more exposure or less pulling force?

Also with all those failing cones the sword don't really fits.

When I used other resins before I managed to get good samples (cube was shorter that required 6mm) and I was happy with them. Sunlu on its own was causing some issues but I wasn't focusing on it as my intention was to use the resin blend but now I can't get good outcome :(

Anyone?

Some issues

Hello,

I tried posting on FB group but no joy so I kindly ask for your expertise here. Please check the copy of a post from FB:

Probably nothing new for you but I am new to 3d printing. I was resisting for long time till I found a miniatures that I totally loved and went all in.

Now having Saturn 4 ultra 16k, with overall good experience - even though first printer that I received was faulty and it took 2 weeks to resolve issue and get a refund.

Currently I only used water washable resin V2. Calibrated with cones of calibration V3 with overall good result (sword fits skull but nothing else, ale fits the mug, success side all good, failure side two on one side are still failed but printed more than others, cube is 6mm wide but not 6mm tall I does match the measurements checked in slicer), but still have some miniatures failing to print entirely.

  1. please look at photos and with your experience, could you tell why I got those... I don't even know what they are, like 2d spilled parts - jester claws and some bells around waist, one arm on dark elf. Does it require more supports or curing time?

  2. on those flat/straight parts (spruce with hands) there are some layers coming off. Setting again? If yes then which setting to look at? Or that's down to resin?

  3. I am using Elegoo satellite and it fails to "auto repair" some files, basically takes 54gb of ram and got stuck for hours. Is that normal?

  4. today I started using Lychee and it loads files that satellite couldn't but fails on many others - similar when auto repair mode it just keeps working for infinite time - it doesn't use up that much RAM tho. So with software is this something common and multiple apps should be used or is there something better that you could recommend?

============

Now as an update I used Lychee and added a suport for that dark elf hand and it came out good.

I reprinted the satyr without any changes and claws are good, just one bell around his hand is broken but I can live with that.

When using Lychee multiple prints came out without base layer on plate, so there were only standing supports but like poles without this base that usually connects them.

  1. Also multiple minis have some small issues like missing small piece of weapon - spike on club, or tip of sword, sometimes is a sleeve that is flatten. Is that what it should be or we aiming and looking for 100% perfection?
