FIRE got harder as I got happier

Morning, fellows

Just talking to you guys since I can talk about some parts of this with my friends, but not all. I'd only put all the details together anonymously.

Firstly, the FIRE stats to pay my dues. 30M, 1.05M, home owner but no equity counted. 53% SR, middle class income. Got a bit of a jump start, about 150k, from a parent dying early. I'd rather have had the parent.

I have had unhappy years and happy years. I just finished a move so a natural bookmark between life chapters. My last life chapter was great. Loved it. Worked a ton. In school. Ran a marathon slowly. Crushed books. Pursued hobbies. And I have a pile of knick knacks and memorabilia from it.

Other chapters, less so. There are dozens of states and countries and jobs I've been to and have no evidence. Felt no need to take anything but pictures. No need to buy anything, I'm busy saving money. Anhedonia is cheap.

But this chapter was very fulfilled and happy and suddenly yes, I was proud of this week lets hit a celebratory dinner with friends. This was a cool place, I'm buying a tee shirt to remember it. Suddenly I've bought more _things_ than I ever did before; its harder to FIRE sure, but I'm enjoying it on the way.

No complaints. I'm happy with both behaviors from me. Just observing.
