My ninjago seasons tier list what are your thoughts on it this is objective list this includes no nostalgia bias or any bias but i know nobody can really stay fully objective but i will try my best at it and i believe this is the true ninjago seasons tier list but also i know it’s not true because we all have different opinions i would also really appreciate if you read my entire review on the seasons thank you.
Pilot: It gave all the ninja good development we get to know a little bit about them garmadon was a good villain the plot is simple the animation is a little outdated and the humor is leaning a bit too much on childish humor but it’s okay overall C+.
Rise of the snakes: Kai and zane are the standouts in development jay and cole did get good development tho it had amazing villain pythor the plot is more simple but it’s good did lean into childish humor but good also nya got her development overall VERY HIGH B+.
Legacy of the green ninja: First half of the season is filler i don’t think it’s bad as people put it it’s just so mediocre mid but the 2nd half is great overlord as much as i love him he is objectively not a great villain he is probably C or B tier villain when it comes to development overall B-.
Rebooted: This season got a lot of hate at release date but as the years have been going i think most have appreciate it for what it is the pacing is rushed they did use pythor and overlord as villains to return probably because they did not have time to make new villains zane development was his best pythor return was good but overlord was still mid development of course the awful love triangle it’s horrible the finale is amazing overall C+.
Tournament of elements: This entire season is just great master chen was great villain also even tho i don’t like clouse staying objective clouse is good sensei garmadon was great especially ending sacrifice the plot was great okay now hear me out on why the main reason it’s best season is because everyone got good development sure there are characters they did not but i see almost everyone getting good development the main reason i have this season over others is because no one felt sidelined or just played there role well like seriously everyone had good development other seasons i felt like other seasons like seasons 5, 8, and 9 there peak but i felt like someone was sidelined idk but for me overall S+.
Possession: I don't think this season is actually overrated i just think people view S tier differently like they still put it in A tier so lloyd, kai, nya, cole, developments are standouts good development jay and zane there not bad but i felt like there sidelined a little bit but they played there role well morro is amazing villain there are some slow paced episodes that’s why it’s lower than others the plot was good the ending was great overall S-.
Skybound: This is the only season i just don’t know how to rank because it changes everyday sometimes it’s peak to me and just bad but today i just felt it was solid i am not a skybound lover or hater but the first half of the season is meh to solid to me but the 2nd half is great but i did not like the ending nadakhan was a great villain jay and nya development were amazing kai and zane felt stupid out of character which i don’t like cole was good this season tho overall B-.
Day of the departed: Morro return was good this special is very rushed sensei yang was meh villain the villain returns were just meh and comedy relief overall F.
Hands of time: This season is amazing concept but execution was very bad time twins were meh villains even tho i love them objectively all they did was have arguments about technology the pacing was rushed animation is bad like seriously i have seen so many animation errors it had bad cringe dialogue like seriously nya says brother and kai says sister like a million times it’s so cringe the vermillion were bad the whole season is just consistent meh to me overall D.
Sons of garmadon: Where do i even start garmadon was great villain the generals were good even tho i am a harumi hater objectively she was great villain the animation was great kai and jay i felt were kind of just there but cole, nya, zane and lloyd i felt all played very well wu was funny this season is just consistent great i did feel like having the royal family for ninjago city was a little random but okay overall S.
Hunted: The main reason it’s below SOG is because it had a few slow paced episodes but putting it over SOG is really just do you like the finale of amazing story or the start of amazing story garmadon was PEAK this season harumi was great MR E i felt was a little disappointing with his death but okay skylor was a good addition lloyd this is probably his best development kai and jay did upgrade from SOG sidelined cole and nya were great zane was kind of just there but he did nothing bad he just did nothing good either master wu has his best development season by far this season has a PEAK finale just great overall S.
March of the oni: This is where i think the oni trilogy falls off so obviously it’s rushed the omega was generic overall and only had 4 episodes but i don’t think this season is bad garmadon and lloyd had good development cole fall was eh alright i guess the ending with tornado of creation was little disappointing way to beat the oni but it did reward us with a emotional ending and if the series did end here i would be happy with this overall C+.
Fire chapter: Ninja lazy was dumb and stupid idea aspheera was meh villain the 11 minute change was bad kai all he did was say i don’t have powers i can’t do this zane plot was sidelined with his visions jay was annoying and just too childish cole i felt was too laid back clutch powers was awful this season has tons of filler the episode i really like was flashback episode with wu and aspheera the animation was good but overall F- tier.
Ice chapter: I do think it’s underrated it does have some filler but not as much as fire chapter akita and krag were good side characters ice emperor was meh he kind of just sits in his throne the whole season but alright this season to me just gets killed by 11 minutes it could have been a great season overall C.
Secrets of forbidden spinjitzu: Ice chapter was alright but fire chapter was just too awful to be saved overall D.
Prime empire: I have heard a lot of people say it’s underrated to me it’s not D or F but it’s not A or B+ so unagami was alright villain i guess it was very disappointing we do not see much of him jay even tho it’s supposed to be his focus season it’s a team season he is sidelined once again until kai and cole die than i felt like jay was getting somewhere okino, racer seven, scott, were good side characters this season does suffer from 11 minute episodes i feel like lloyd and harumi fight was great but idk but what does this season change for the series it feels like a filler season overall C+.
Master of the mountain: Cole development is PEAK his best development the villain was good the upply and princess vania was good characters the lore we get with the earth elemental is very interesting i do think geckles and munce were a little bit annoying but i felt like they were good additions the animation is good jay was again too childish but i think lloyd, kai, nya all played there roles well and zane was kind of just there but okay this season is lower because 11 minute format again and some slow paced scenes but it was very good season overall A.
The island: It’s not completely filler because we need to know who the keepers are but overall jay was childish ronin as the twist villain was rushed pacing i don’t hate the island because it is just a prologue but overall D+.
Seabound: Nya development is PEAK kalmaar was alright villain not the best but he was not bad jay is finally not too childish benthomaar is underrated good side character maya was also a good addition pixal and lloyd were good zane was funny but was just there kai and ray were sidelined even tho i liked the dynamic i felt it was underutilized cole was sidelined but the finale is amazing this season to me just falls short to be top 5 because of 11 minute episodes but overall A.
Crystalized: First 12 episodes were a solid start i do think getting nya so early was unexpected to me which i do think was a risky idea the ninja go to prison i do think these prison episodes were better execution than skybound prison episodes they were solid episodes but after episode 12 this season goes down hill when they ruined harumi arc overlord was meh villain aspheera, MR F and the mechanic for the crystal council was just dumb i felt like there was more you can do than a remake of MR E, a villain fans hated and a low level street villain but pythor and vangelis picks but they were nothing but comedy reliefs lloyd development makes no sense the other 5 ninja were just bad and ruined character arcs i did like episode 15 tho but besides that every episode after 12 is just meh to awful overall F+.
Dragons Rising season 1: This season is so underrated correct me if i am wrong but i see people everywhere on social media saying this season is mid and boring it’s not okay so arin he was not bad this season but he was not great but i do think he was a interesting character sora was great character lloyd, nya were great this season and they saved kai he was great wyldfyre i felt she could get annoying at times but i felt her development was good the villains rapton even tho i loved the dude he was just a comedy relief meh lord ras he was good but this was not his best showing he was underutilized this season i mean he was basically prison for part 2 it does have some slow paced episodes but this season is world building so i think it’s okay to do that but than the bad stuff beatrix was alright villain imperium even tho it’s the focus location it’s not really interesting it’s cool but alright dr larow was weird zane was man this is just sad zane is basically lost his humanity cole was sidelined even tho cole i felt was decent the main reason this season goes down than others is jay and cole this is the first season where the ninja were not there like sure they got screen time but they don’t feel like there on the team this was the first ninjago season to feel like this overall VERY HIGH B+.
Dragons Rising season 2: This is probably my most controversial placement i think so kai development is amazing nya, lloyd, sora, riyu, were great this season cole and zane did get something to do but eh it was fine but it did not do anything to there development to me lord ras was a really good villain cinder and jordana i did feel like they were underutilized decent additions the 2 dragon maters rontu and egalt were good part 1 was amazing tournament of the sources so part 2 is really good frak was good but again the jay problem yeah sure he had screen time and cool fight against nya but this is another season where a ninja just does not feel like he is on the team cole, zane were kind of just there for the tournament okay now the bad roby he is so annoying just a unnecessary comedy relief character wyldfyre was good in part 1 but part 2 her entire development is just built off roby which was disappointing because i feel like her development is going down than up so arin i liked him in part 1 but part 2 i just don’t like his development overall A+.
Dragons Rising season 3: Okay let me start off with this season is solid but very disappointing the forbidden five rox was annoying, kur did nothing, zarkt lost to pixal i seriously don’t know what they were doing with these 3 but drix and nokt were good arin to me he is annoying but objectively this is his best development season kai, nya, lloyd were all good morro return was good but little disappointing pixal i did like her return just not in part 2 but zane he gets another fake out death and is gone in part 2 to take a honeymoon cole was gone in part 1 and barely anything in part 2 jay was peak this season kai was sidelined but good nya, sora and lloyd played there roles well frak meh this season he doesn’t do much besides fear of puppets which is disappointing wyldfyre development was down thunder fang stole the stole the show from the forbidden five and he does nothing in part 1 or part 2 he is meh good voice acting and design but he does nothing land of lee is just weird it does not even feel like ninjago it feels like a whole another show that place is just weird forbidden five do nothing in part 2 the finale was good lord ras, arin and rogue jay really helped this season for me overall B-.
