Will young people still be interested in starting businesses in the real economy?
I’ve noticed that many posts about young entrepreneurs these days focus on AI—specifically providing AI services to businesses or individuals. While AI is certainly the hottest topic right now, I feel that most people aren't actually making money from it.
Through some recent experimentation, I’ve found that building trust online is difficult. This forces people to buy traffic on platforms just to close deals, which translates to higher startup costs for entrepreneurs. So, I’m wondering: if everyone is fighting for the online market, could I take the opposite approach and try entering a niche offline sector instead?
There are many independent artisans in my country creating exquisite, niche products—items that likely command a premium price in Western markets (Europe and the US). I previously tried reaching out to gift shop owners online to propose partnerships or even consignment arrangements, but I was completely ignored. I’m curious if young people in the US or Europe might be interested in this. Engaging in physical trade within a niche market—and starting with low overhead—would really only cost one's time.
Of course, I’d welcome your feedback on this idea; it’s possible I’m just living in my own little world.
