in SON, it is just generally ignored that Mars was playing dumb about knowing Percy, exactly like Nico was. im paraphrasing this but when Percy was saying he fought Mars, Mars basically said ‘I haven’t fought you *as Mars*‘ meaning he knew the whole time who Percy was and he was just being a jackass for the sake of it
