Built a cozy cat cafe productivity app
Hi guys! This is just a small project that I’ve been working on recently to get into mobile development.
I know Pomodoro/productivity apps have already been made a million times, but as someone who studies late at night, I wanted to make something that felt cozy instead of stressful.
So I started building a small app for myself to use during finals week, which feels more like a cozy game while still being a productivity tool.
It’s called Study Kitty.
Basically, it’s a Pomodoro timer, and while you study:
- cats slowly spawn in your cafe
- every completed focus session earns coins
- you can unlock furniture/decorations
- collect more cats over time
The idea was just to make studying feel comforting instead of punishing or stressful.
It’s still really early, and I’m actively improving it, so I’d genuinely love feedback/suggestions from people who study a lot or use focus apps regularly.
Especially interested in:
- what features feel missing
- whether the progression feels motivating
- ideas for future cats/decorations/themes
- anything that feels annoying/confusing or finicky
- any UI reworks
It’s my first app, and I’ve honestly been enjoying the process a lot.
