The first-class accommodation on the Main Deck of RMS Campania and RMS Lucania underwent several noticeable changes. Cabins 140 and 174 were converted into lavatories. On the starboard side, cabins 172, 171, 164 and 163 were subdivided into 8 individual single-berth staterooms. On the port side, cabins 147 and 150 were moved closer to the hull, which altered the position and size of their sofas as the size of the cabins reduced. This meant that the smaller sofas could no longer be arranged as separate berths. Cabins 148 and 149 were also shifted into the space taken from 147 and 150, making room for the new cabins 148A and 149A.
